AB Vista appoints new swine technical nutritionist to North America team

AB Vista is expanding its North America team with the appointment of Laura Merriman as Swine Technical Nutritionist. 

Based in Decatur, Illinois, Laura will be responsible for supporting customers with technical information across the full swine product and service portfolio, including phytase Quantum Blue, xylanase Econase XT and the company’s feed quality and lab services.

Laura joins the company after time spent working in the field as a Swine Nutritionist, advising on the use of feed ingredients including NSPases and yeasts. As Pete Wilcock, Swine Commercial Manager explains, this practical experience is backed by a wealth of academic knowledge:

“Laura is a highly qualified specialist, and we are delighted to have played a part in her academic journey, having sponsored her PhD study at the University of Illinois.

“Whilst studying, Laura contributed to a project we are running in conjunction with the university’s Professor Hans Stein, spearheading advances in digestible calcium for swine. We’re delighted that she will be able to put her research expertise into practice when supporting our customers with real-life applications of feed additives.”
