The feed industry has evolved rapidly, with science and innovation driving greater understanding of animal biology, feed composition and nutrition. Approaches to diet and nutrition that may have been seen as best-in-class 10 years ago are now outdated. This evolution must continue, as complex external factors drive a re-evaluation of nutrition strategies.
As the industry has learnt more about phytate and its interactions in the animal, we have come to understand it as a source of valuable nutrients. These areas of research were presented at the International Phytate Summit in Miami, in November 2016. Peer-reviewed proceedings from the summit are available at Wageningen Academic Publishers.
