AB Vista attends 2023 Poultry Science Association Annual Meeting in PhiladelphiaPublished Monday, 10th July 2023
The Poultry Science Association Annual Meeting is happening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA from the 10th to 13th of July. We are excited to be part of this great event which brings together experts from industry and academia, together with students, to discuss the latest science and research in the poultry field.
As a Bronze Sponsor, we are happy to share that the event will see more than 511 abstracts presented, 204 of those by students. This is a great experience for the new generation industry leaders.
There will also be a record number of 14 symposia and the WPSA Lecture for attendees to immerse themselves in, covering key topics of discussion including matters related to poultry processing.
Student competitions will take place on Monday and Tuesday, with non-competition presentations happening from Tuesday to Thursday.
AB Vista’s poultry directors, Dr Tara York and Dr Craig Wyatt, are attending the event, along with our Field Veterinarian Technical Manager, Dr Michelle Stewart. They are looking forward to exchanging insights and ideas with attendees and discussing the advancement of the global poultry industry.
Our Research Director, Dr Mike Bedford along with his R&D team contributed to a few technical discussions on the topics of:
- Wheat bran particle size influenced ileal nutrient digestibility in broiler chickens receiving corn-soybean meal-based diets supplemented or not with a stimbiotic
- Dietary phytase and stimbiotic reduce susceptibility to bacterial chondronecrosis with osteomyelitis (BCO) and associated lameness in modern broiler: wire-ramp challenge model
- Effect of in ovo injection of xylooligosaccharides and diets supplemented with xylanase or a combination of xylanase and xylooligosaccharides on hatchability, growth performance, and ileal gene expressions of broilers
- Impact of phytase supplementation on meat quality of heat-stressed broilers
The Poultry Science Annual Meeting is part of the World’s Poultry Science Association, a non-profit organisation focused on advancing knowledge and understanding of poultry science and the wider industry.
